Baking Bookworm is my 6-year-old brain child — the blend of my two biggest hobbies, reading and baking!
The very first thought I had about BB was in 2020- wouldn’t it be cool if book club had a themed snack? …Do you know what happened? A pandemic. Book club became virtual and the idea faded.
About a year ago, I came back to the idea when I saw a fellow ‘cookier’ teaching a class of cookie decorating in her home.
Lightbulb moment!
The themed treat would be cookies inspired by the book! And I wouldn’t make them all myself- I’d teach a class!
I ran the idea by a few friends and they were interested and supportive enough to come to my house and ‘beta test’ Baking Bookworm. They loved it. We had snacks, wine, chatted about the book, and each guest got to take home/eat a set of decorated cookies.
I’m planning cookie night #4 right now, and I’m so pleased with how it’s going!
Next goal: Have an event or party at a new location, not at my house. I want to test myself on getting everything prepped beforehand and teaching in a new place!
